Albert Londraville, Original Oil Painting, “Kuan Yin”

Description: This gorgeous painting is by Albert Londraville (1922-2015). He studied under the famous Russian American Master, Nicolai Fechin, and Albert was a MGM scenic artist who painted movie backdrops. Albert also studied at the Lukits’ Academy of Fine Arts and often painted together with Theodore Lukits on site (plein air) and in the studio (still life’s). During this time, Albert studied both Japanese Sumi-e and Chinese Brush Painting and Philosophy. See his full bio on my website www.albertlondraville.com. I acquired most of the large collection of paintings from the Albert Londraville estate and this definitely is his “Signature” painting! As can be seen on his card on the back of the painting, the title is “Kuan Yin” which is the Chinese goddess of compassion, mercy and kindness. She is an embodiment of the Buddhist ideal of compassion and an example of powerful energy of the women who have preserved female ideals over the centuries despite the constraints of male-dominated societies. The card on the back of painting also includes “NFS” (not for sale) as this painting was in art exhibitions but Albert was not interested in selling it. The composition and brushwork is masterful and represents Albert’s finest work. Other gallery owners in Carmel, California (where we co-managed an art gallery) have seen this painting and have said that it belongs in a museum (the highest compliment). This is the first time this painting has been made available for purchase. This painting is mounted in a beautiful black and antique gold frame.
