AKIRA Original Cel Artwork 2 Pieces! Ultimate 1988 Anime Blockbuster Art, 1988

Description: *Because of recent events that make it extraordinarily difficult to place a value on these particular original artworks from the immensely important 1988 anime film, AKIRA! -The price of these two significant drawings will, unfortunately, increase rather quickly. I deeply regret this, but for those that are not in the collector realm the film is available on streaming platforms, as well as 4k Blueray (preferred) -these are available from other sellers on eBay. These two artist drawings , however, are PRICELESS; although I can no longer afford them, I hope the new owner will leave them to a Japanese museum in their will -I regard these two drawings as "National Treasures of Japan". (Akira movie posters are for reference, and are NOT included in auction; auction is for two drawings). The first print of Tetsuo Shima, is, I believe the very first time an anime character went "Super Saiyan" (supa saiya-jin)! This frame can be seen in the full, unedited Japanese version of the movie, at the1:32:18 mark. This is an incredibly historic, and important moment in anime; exceedingly RARE. The second print is a great one too! Featuring a closeup of a member of the very popular punk motorcycle gang, you can see detail of his crazy shoulder tatoo! It can be seen earlier in the film, at the 0:06:11 mark. Both drawings are included, and would look awesome framed. It doesn't get any better than this! Although most people are familiar with sericels or "cells"; if you think about it, they aren't really the art! The real art, are the underlying drawings - which are not usually made available to the public. With no offense intended to those who did that vital work; "cells" are usually painted by assistants, and is, essentially, a color-by-number or fill-in-the-space process (NOT the same thing as the animator creating the drawings, which is what we have here)...
