Archive and save up to 1024MB of all of your favorite drums, samples, sequences and songs on one CF media card! Older 1GB Compact Flash reader kit work best. 2GB, 4GB and 8GB SD cards can be used. Media larger then 1GB will need to be partitioned and formatted. See partition instructions below. Card Reader Build Quality: The new CF-2000XL card reader chassis is manufactured from 20 gauge steel, the face-plate is power coated for durability. Mechanically, this is one of the best builds I’ve seen on a CF Card Reader. The MCD is fabricated to a high quality, resulting in one of the best CF Card Readers on the market. Akai MPC Load, Save & Format commands are fully supported. PLEASE NOTE: You must install Akai MPC 2000XL OS version 1.20 before installing the drive. Do this using the provided MPC OS on floppy disk. Using OS version 1.20 will allow you to move files between your computer and your MPC (using MAC or Windows platforms), however this Akai OS version will only recognize 1GB (1024MB) of memory on your CF media card. These new card readers no longer support MPC 2000XL OS 1.14 due to internal firmware changes. Some CF cards will not work with this card reader. Legacy media cards that operate at 15MB/S transfer speeds usually work best. You may have to experiment to find cards that work.
