Just three library stamps. Murder Is Easy is a detective fiction novel by Agatha Christie first published in the UK by the Collins Crime Club in June 1939. The novel concerns the efforts of a retired police officer, Luke Fitzwilliam, to discover the identity of a serial killer active in the village of Wychwood under Ashe. He learns that the series of deaths were mistaken for accidents by the locals, while the nobleman Lord Whitfield mysteriously attributes most of them to divine justice. The book is in VG- to VERY GOOD vintage condition - ex-library copy with three ex-library stamps (FFEP, title page and last page of text). Spine lean, firm hinges and joints. Colorful, unfaded, clean boards. Rubbed spine tips, corners slightly bumped. Age-toned pages. Mostly light foxing throughout, heaviest on the endpapers. heavily rubbed at edges and turn-ins. Age-darkened pages. Partially erased former bookseller pencil writing and a number written in ink on FFEP. A few other stray pen marks and a few of the page top margins have a cut. The price-clipped original dust jacket is in VG condition. Beautiful, colorful front cover. Spine a bit sun-lightened. Chipping to head and foot of spine. Water dampening stain to head of front panel. Some areas of foxing on spine and dust soiling and some foxing to rear panel. Some foxing on flaps and jacket blind side.
