ADORABLE FENTON GLASS HAND PAINTED BLUE SATIN ELEPHANT ARTIST SIGNED c: 1984

Description: Dumbo couldn’t be any cuter than this Fenton, Blue Satin Glass, Elephant that is hand painted, artist signed and labeled. Measuring 3.75 inches high, 3.50 long and 1.50 wide. Satin glass is made by applying hydrofluoric acid to the uppermost layers of glass, giving it a matte finish, satin like look and feel and removing the shine. Fenton Glass produced a large quantity of Satin Glass from 1972 to 1984. The label on the elephant coincides with this time period as it was used from 1968 to 1985. Lovely hand painted, blue and pink, flowers have been painted on the elephant in various places, using crushed glass mixed in with the paints to give the piece a glittering shine. The piece is signed by the well known Fenton artist, “ Tammy Watson,” who decorated for Fenton Glass from 1/02/79 to 3/12/82; 5/07/84 to 9/12/85; 5/04/88 and 9/28/92 to 3/18/94. The Satin Glass Elephant is in EXCELLENT ESTATE CONDITION WITH NO CRACKS, CHIPS, FLEA BITES or PAINT WEAR. A wonderful addition to your Fenton collection. We have been selling on E-Bay for 25 years.
