Description: This is a signed photograph of the popular actress and singer Alice Faye (1915-1998). She appeared in about three dozen movies, mostly in the 1930s and 1940s, including In Old Chicago, Alexander's Ragtime Band, Lillian Russell, Tin Pan Alley, and Four Jills in a Jeep, among many others. She was under contract to 20th Century Fox, and her movies were so consistently popular that she becameknown as the "Queen of Fox ". Many of her movies were musicals, and Faye had a very successful career as a singer on radio, in movies, and on records. Faye was married for more than fifty years to bandleader Phil Harris (1904-1995), who is perhaps best known these days as the voice of Baloo in the 1967 Disney cartoon movieThe Jungle Book. Together, Alice and Phil had a successful radio show that ran for aboutthree hundred episodes. Harris was a regularon The Jack Benny Show, which was probablythe leading comedy show of the entire era ofthe golden age of radio. This is a 10" by 8" b/w photo, in very good condition.
