Description: Up for sale is a rare copy of "A Catalogue of the Officers and Students of Dartmouth College" published September 1837 and printed by Thomas Mann from Hanover, NH. This is a rare 24 page softcover pamphlet that lists all of the undergraduates by class, their hometowns and their room assignments. Also listed are the Medical Students with the same information. Pamphlet begins with a listing of faculty, then Medical students, then undergraduates then it goes on to the courses of study. It ends with a summary of expenses (27.00 for tuition!) and a summary of the students. It is 24 pages long and ends with that summary page. There may have at one point been blank front and end pages but this is listed as a 24 page document and other examples state they have this many pages so it, in terms of content is complete. The softcover piece is in fairly nice shape with some staining particularly to the front and rear pages but also to the interior. It grows fainter as you get to the middle. There is a previous owner signature and inscription at the top. Pages are bound together but it does look like it was removed from either something containing front and rear covers or a book that held multiple documents. A Rare early look at Dartmouth College.
