The Transcaucasian Military District, a military district of the Soviet Armed Forces, traces its history to May 1921 and the incorporation of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia into the Soviet Union. It was disbanded by being redesignated as a Group of Forces in the early 1990s after the Soviet Union collapse. Куркоткина, а также более чем 600 фотоснимков с пояснительными текстами рассказывают о подвигах бойцов и командиров легендарной XI армии, ее исторической роли в революционно-освободительном движении в Закавказье, о массовом героизме воинов Закавказского фронта в годы Великой Отечественной войны, о верности личного состава округа идеалам коммунизма, славным боевым традициям старших поколений.
