Description: I found this fly on DressedIrons YouTube channel and tied a few up for myself. I was amazed at how the Bluegills love this fly, and mostly larger ones. I altered his materials slightly. He uses moose body hair for the tail and shellback. I used deer hair for the tail and lacquered black turkey tail for the shellback. He used chartreuse thread, I used red. He used medium chartreuse chenille for the body, I used Green. Green is the most popular bass worm color, why not green for gills. Plus, I catch a lot of bass on gill getters. The only other fly that even comes close to this fly in bluegill production is the Bully Bluegill Spider, also tied by DressedIrons as well as a dozen other people on You Tube. You get 6 Gill Getters. They are weighted on a #10 hook with Green chenille bodies, white round rubber legs, and red heads.
