The main advantage of the 2-piece design is that you are able to place the barrier exactly around your stoma. Afterwards, you then snap on the urostomy pouch. (The matching 2-3/4 rings snap together -- like Tupperware lids.) (One-piece appliances can often be much more difficult to cut and even more difficult to place.) The 14204 is one of the larger barriers; it can deal with a large diameter stoma AND still puts down a large area of adhesive -- giving you a longer wear time and less leakage.
