Description: Himal Yak Cheese Chew Dog Treat Smallfrom the Himalayan. This is the five (5) pieces of Himal Dog Chew small in size. HOW IS THE PRODUCT MADE? Himal Dog Treat contains a mixture of yaks milk and cows milk. Once the mixture is boiled, the prevalent fat is separated by adding lime juice. The excess fat is then discarded. After a few hours of boiling the milk, it starts to thicken and forms a white cheese. Stirring the boiling milk gently and continuously is key to making this cheese. The cheese is poured into a clean cloth to drain out the excess water. Once the block of cheese is ready, it is cut into small pieces and dried. When the product is ready, it can be stored for a number of years. No preservative or artificial flavors are added in the whole process of making the product. WHAT ARE THE INGREDIENT ON THIS PRODUCT? Made with yaks milk and cows milk, salt, and lime juice. WHAT SIZE OF TREAT DO I GIVE MY DOG? Though it varies upon the different chewing style of the dog, in general, the following is recommended: Small Treat: Dogs up to 5 lbs. Medium Treat: Dogs 5 lbs - 20 lbs. Large Treat: Dogs 20 lbs to 40 lbs. X Large Treat: Dogs 40 lbs to 80 lbs. XX Large Treat: Dogs 80 lbs + HOW LONG DO THE TREATS LAST? The amount of time is takes for a dog to devour the treat depends on several factors such as the size of the pet and chewing habits. The hard texture of the cheese makes it a long lasting dog treat, keeping your pet occupied for hours, even days! ARE DOG LACTOSE INTOLERANt? Even though dairy products are generally safe for most dogs, some may be lactose intolerant. Signs of lactose intolerance are acute intestinal distress such as gas or diarrhea. In case your pet is exhibiting these symptoms after consuming dairy products, we advise you to seek medical attention and going forward to avoid all dairy products including Himal Dog Treat. WHAT AMOUNT OF DOG TREAT CAN MY DOG CONSUME A WEEK? Since himal dog treats are extremely high in protein, in case of over consumption it may cause diarrhea, especially with older dogs. Please keep in mind that this is a treat and cannot be substituted for regular food. We recommend a treat per week. HOW LONG CAN I STORE THIS PRODUCT? The shelf life of the treat is usually three years for any unopened Himal Dog Chew, in its original packaging, stored at room temperature. If you would like to save any open unfinished pieces for later consumption, please pat dry and store away from moisture. After prolonged contact with moisture, if you notice any changes in the color such as patches of grey or green, it might be a result of mold. Please discard the treat immediately and start a fresh pack. WILL THE TREAT DAMAGE MY DOGs TEETH? Since the treat is a form of hard cheese, please consider your dog’s oral health before making a purchase. However, the treats do get softer once the hard outer shell has been chewed on for a little while. Dipping it in water for 30 seconds can help to soften it, just avoid a white carpet... WHAT DO I DO WITH THE SMALL END PIECES OF THE HIMAL TREAT? If you have small pieces leftover from the treat, you can gather them and put it in a microwave for anywhere from 45 seconds to a few minutes to create a new crunchy treat. It will sit still for the first minute or so and then the magic takes place! Enjoy the spectacle, but dont get too excited once it has finished puffing because it will be very hot! Make sure to let it cool first before giving them to your pet to enjoy! Item will ship via USPS.
