4 Victorian hallmarked Sterling Silver Menu/Card Holders in Case

Description: 4 Victorian Sterling Silver Menu Holders Click image to enlarge Description These beautiful novelty menu/card holders are made from sterling silver. They are in the form of fire grates with ornate, scrolled frames, paw feet and pierced grills. There are 2 bars at the back for holding menu or place cards and the holders are supported on semi-circular rests - one is photographed holding a standard business card. Each is hallmarked for London 1900 with the maker’s mark of the highly collected silversmith, William Comyns. They are presented in their original black-coloured case with push-button clasp, light blue silk lining to the lid and dark blue velvet to the base. The holders are in beautiful condition with no dents, dinks or splits to the front and the decorative detail is nice and crisp. There are a few tiny kinks to the semi-circular bars but these are around the hallmarks and were clearly caused when they were struck. The case is in good order with functioning clasp that locks securely. The exterior has about 6 small areas of missing covering and some light scuffing across the base. The linings are in good order with no rips although there are a few feint brown marks to the silk and some light rubbing to the velvet caused by the holders. All packages are sent by Royal Mail Signed-For service and have adequate insurance built in to the postage cost. I do not make any profit on postage/insurance costs and don?t charge for packaging. To ensure items are safe in transit, I package them very well and, unfortunately, this does increase mailing costs somewhat. All packages must be signed for upon receipt. Failure to do so or collect a package will result in it being returned to me and the buyer will be responsible for the cost of re-sending the item.
