Description: These four plates came from my grandparents and are absolute stunners. They have a cream background with a cobalt blue rim ornamented in raised gilt gold. On the back, there is a Minton stamp with 'Ovington Brothers'' also on it. Impressed into the back is a Minton stamp which dates these to 1922. These could probably do with a little cleaning (some smudges on the backs of a few - see photos), but I didn't want to mess with them at all. Honestly, even if you mounted and hung these as decorative, they'd be show stoppers. The gold cartouches on the plates are slightly raised...anyway, you can look at the pictures and see for yourself. I examined the plates closely and one has the beginnings of craquele in the glaze in the plate center, another has well developed craquele, also in the center of the face of the plate. I dont' see cracquele on the back side or in the cobalt aras at all. Please see the images. There are no chips, scratches, gold or other wear or other signs of craquele elsewhere on the plates that I can see. The plates measure 10 1/8" across and stand 3/4" tall. Please feel free to ask questions. Thanks.
