Description: I found this nice smaller 3.5” nautiloid (cymatoceras species) at a Grayson formation construction site merely 2 miles from my house. One side is quite rough, but the display side has nice details and attractive features I rarely seen on nautiloids, which are usually quite worn. STAND INCLUDED. Please review ALL photos. I removed some excess matrix from this one with a Dremel 290 fit with a Zoic Paleotec short tip. Nautiloids are estimated to be 90-100 million years old, from the Cretaceous period.
