These are "Linear Maps" that are intended to show the details of a lengthy area to show specific details. Each map is 26" x 9" and come from a book/atlas and were drawn by J. v. Glumer, a noted map artist of the period who specialized in drawing maps of the region and of different military campaigns. Printed by T. Sinclair of Philadelphia. Included are the following:Potomac River Region with the C&O and Washington & Alexandria Canals, W&A Railroad, etc.Anacostia River / Eastern Branch Region with US Naval Yard & Arsenal Grounds, Congressional Cemetery, Balt & Potomac RR, etc.Rock Creek Region with The Georgetown & Rockville Pike, Rosslynn, and area parks, roads and mills.Great color with the effect of shading to provide a topographic look. These are in great, clean condition with folds as shown. Maps may be purchased separately if desired.
