Sellers have them mislabeled and are just repeating the same error over & over. Celluloid plastic went out of favor for toy use in the 1940s sometime. Most of what you find on ebay are from the 1950s and up....they are a hard plastic. I do have a couple that are celluloid and will state so when listing them.
