Description: I am selling two beautiful examples of yearly Clichy glass workmanship. Both are from the mid 1800's. However, that's where the similarity ends. The first is an exquisite CLICHY Paperweight with a central cluster of red and pale-green canes, within two circles of canes, in cobalt-blue and dark-red all surrounded by six C-shaped canes in shades of pink, mauve, cobalt-blue and green, each enclosing a large single cane, on a muslin ground above a bed of a horizontal cable. This larger paperweight is stunning. It is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks, or other damage to the body or foot ring. Diameter 2.92" Dates from the mid 1800's. The second and smaller paperweight is a charming Clichy End-Of-Day Scramble glass paperweight also from the mid 1800's. The scrambles are an assortment of millefiori canes, broken canes, twists and ribbons and whole canes in quite an assortment..bright pink, purple, light and dark blue, reds, whites. However, this paperweight has had a hard life. it has considerable scratching/scuff marks to the top dome and two large chips to the foot ring - one chip goes all the way into the canes inside. See photos. Maybe a re-polish by a skilled professional can bring this little beauty back to some of it's former glory. Diameter 1.75" Please see my many photos for details of both paperweights.
