Description: WEIGHED, SORTED, & MATCHED 25 pellet sample of Crosman Premier domed .22 caliber 14.30gr airgun pellets. Description from Crosman: "Premier pellets are made using the highest grade precision tooling to ensure each pellet is nearly indistinguishable from the next. Hunting and target pellet with the most down-range energy." Note: gr=grain These pellets, out of the manufacturer’s box (see photo), ranged in weight from 14.05gr to 14.65gr. That is a .60gr spread, which will definitely affect accuracy and grouping. Your 25 pellet sample eliminates that weight difference, giving you consistent muzzle velocities and higher accuracy. Why buy from me, instead of the other pellet sample sellers? I weigh the pellets using a milligram scale, and sort to 1/20 grain. The true pellet weight will be listed on your sample container. I discard deformed pellets. I personally shoot most of the pellets I sell, and I strive for accuracy and tight shot groups. Read on. So you have a new pellet gun, or you’ve never been able to establish accuracy with your old pellet gun? Not all pellets will shoot well in your gun, and the only way to discover the most accurate pellets for YOUR gun is to shoot test groups with various pellet brands, weights and types. · My samples save you $$, since you don’t have to buy whole tins of pellets to test. My samples remove the weight variation that exists within the manufacturer’s batch, giving you more accuracy and your absolute best chance to discover the most accurate pellet for your gun. Now the largest variable you have to fight is simply YOU! How good a shot are you? How well do you care for your pellet gun? Pellet rifle accuracy tips (assuming your gun has a rifled barrel): · If your gun is new, clean the barrel before firing. Don’t bother to zero your rifle or look for consistency until you have shot 100 pellets. Adjust your sights so you are close to the center of the target. Clean your barrel after every 25 shots, using a small amount of lead solvent bore cleaner such as Hoppes #9, Break Free or CLP. After 100 shots and 5 cleanings, your pellet rifle should be broken in and you can start testing for accuracy. · DO NOT shoot steel BBs in your pellet rifle. BBs flatten out the rifling over time. BBs aren’t very accurate anyhow, so stick with pellets. · Lead pellets leave a residue in your barrel that decreases accuracy. You should clean your barrel at least every 25 shots. I recommend a bore snake or one-piece non-metallic rod for cleaning. Those cheap multi-piece screw-together aluminum kits will flex, bend, and contact (and damage) your rifling and the muzzle of your barrel. It is recommended to clean in the same direction the pellet travels, from the breach towards the muzzle. It is easiest to do this with a bore snake, unless you have a break-barrel rifle. RECOMMENDED PELLET TEST PROCEDURE (with lead pellets): 1. Make sure you have completed your barrel break-in procedure (100 shots minimum), and your gun is sighted-in enough to be on the paper. 2. Clean your barrel with a one-piece rod or bore snake and some solvent. If you are using a rod, finish your cleaning with dry patches until they come out clean. If you are using a bore snake, run it through at least three times, once with some solvent and then at least twice more to dry it out. 3. Use a different target for each pellet batch, and label your targets with the pellet information, target distance, and date. 4. Use five-shot groups to test the pellets. Do not adjust your sights or scope, you are shooting for group, not necessarily the center of the target. After five shots, clean your barrel and change your target. This 25 pellet sample will give you five test targets, and you should have a very good idea of how this pellet performs in your rifle. 5. Test a few different pellet brands and weights, keep the test targets, and compare them to determine which pellets you want to buy. Zero your sights or scope with your chosen pellets, and enjoy your hunting, plinking, and target shooting!
