Coin Design The obverse features the effigy of King Charles III, designed by award-winning portrait artist Martin Jennings. Surrounding the effigy are the inscriptions "CHARLES III," "D.G. REX F.D." (Latin for "By the Grace of God, King, Defender of Faith"), and the coin's denomination. Limited Mintage The 2025 Silver Sovereign Proof has an extremely limited mintage of just 50,000 coins without the privy mark and 15,000 with the special shield privy mark. Additionally, half of the mintage for both coins are restricted to Great Britain, making these coins even rarer for collectors outside the UK.
