Description: Mint: Royal Australian Mint Denomination: $1 Quality: Uncirculated Issue limit: 30,000 Alloy: Base metal Diameter: 25 mm Weight: 9 grams Design: Tony Dean/Jody Clark Box/Capsule: No/Blister Certificate: Printed card The coin commemorating the Centenary of Legacy shines a light on Australian charitable organisations and the important work they do in Australia. Legacy the organization has a long and rich history in Australia. For 100 years, it has been standing proudly as the only Veteran service organisation in Australia dedicated solely to the care and support of our Veterans’ families. The reverse features a sculpted interpretation of the Legacy logo torch cupped by a pair of hands with the title text ‘Centenary of Legacy • 100 Years of Service’ circling the design around the edge of the coin. The obverse depicts the crowned old bust of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing the Royal Diamond Diadem crown worn for her Coronation (effigy known as the "Fifth Portrait" worldwide but "Sixth Portrait" in Australia, where the Queen's portrait by Vladimir Gottwald was fifth). The Queen also wears the Coronation Necklace; originally made for Queen Victoria in 1858, it was also worn at the coronations (as Queen's Consort) of Queen Alexandra in 1902, Queen Mary in 1911 and Queen Elizabeth (the Queen mother) in 1937. Unlike on British coinage, the effigy is "uncouped" (includes the Queen's shoulders).
