It is meant to show how things started with Blair, the height of operations and near the end of things when the trains stopped running through the town.The bust of Blair is superimposed over a detailed map of the operations of the DL&W (Delaware, Lackawanna & Western) RR circa the early 1920's showing the scope & scale of operations from Hoboken NJ to points north & west.The locomotive #820 is a rendition of the famous "Phoebe Snow" circa early 1950's that ran from Hoboken NJ to Buffalo NY with a stop in Blairstown along the way until 1966Reverse / 1848 Blair Academy 2018 / Blair FallsPictured on the reverse are the original Old Academy building and scenic Blair Falls located in the downtown Blairstown Historic DistrictThere are many resources available for further research locally in town and on the web for additional information.
