You are bidding on 20 JAPANESE PENDULA NANA MAPLE SEEDS - acer palmatum var dissectum pendula nana .This is typically a much smaller, rounded, slow-growing shrubby form (often with cascading branching) that rarely matures to more than 12' tall with a larger spread. Palmate leaves, each having 7-11 deeply incised lobes, are deeply cut to the base of the leaf. These dissected-leaf shrubs are commonly called laceleaf Japanese maple, cutleaf Japanese maple or threadleaf Japanese maple. This cultivar is noted for its excellent leaf color retention throughout the growing season that are green with a reddish tint . Small reddish flowers in spring give way to samaras which ripen in late summer to early fall. Zone: 5 to 8 Medicinal use : None known Edible parts of Japanese Maple: The sap contains a certain amount of sugar and can either be used as a drink, or can be concentrated into a syrup by boiling off the water. The syrup is used as a sweetener on many foods. Other uses of Japanese Maple: The leaves are packed around apples, rootcrops etc to help preserve them.
