Description: (2) Vintage BENNINGTON POTTERS Pottery DUTCH OVENS casseroles bakers 1855 1856 For your consideration is this great pair of Dutch ovens or covered bakers (Nos. 1855 & 1856) designed by David Gil for Bennington Potters, Vermont. These are the classic matte white glaze, roughly oval form with integral lug handles, the lids doubling as trivets. Both in overall excellent vintage condition with no significant issues to note. Some minor production flaws typical of Bennington. Large baker has some crazing in the interior base; not very noticeable or detracting. Both seem to have had little and/or gently use. Interiors very clean with no real signs of use. See description and pics for details. Small Approx 12.25” long x 7” wide x 5” high with lid. Large Approx 14” long x 9” wide x 5.5” high with lid. These are quite heavy and will weigh 16-17lbs packed safely.
