Description: Up for your consideration are these Gorgeous Riedel Crystal Sommeliers Burgundy Grand Cru wine glasses. They measure approximately 9 7/8" tall x 3 3/4" wide across the top x 4 5/8” bowl diameter x 4” across the base with a capacity of 37 oz. Riedel written in Script signature on base indicating this is a hand blown lead free piece. It has the JR (Joseph Riedel) logo in the center of the base outlined in bars that symbolize it was made in 2003. The Riedel Sommeliers Burgundy Grand Cru glass was described by Decanter magazine as 'The finest Burgundy glass of all time, suitable for both young and old Burgundies.' Its shape, developed in 1958, represented a quantum leap in terms of wine glass design, and has earned it a place in the permanent display of the New York Museum of Modern Art. The large bowl allows the bouquet to develop to the full, while the slightly flared top lip maximises the fruit flavours by directing a precise flow onto the front palate. Certain wines and grape varieties require this type of controlled delivery. These are in excellent used condition with no chips or cracks.
