Description: This auction is for one NEW 2 Liter (.52 gallon) American Oak barrel with plug and spigot and some nice Extras. We are also including one of our custom MOONSHINE LIFE® reversible insulated coozie for your drinking pleasure and some samples of our new woods for rapid aging or barrel flavoring. (Coozie will depend on availability at time of shipping)This barrel will be a great start to your new whiskey cellar. Custom age your own products in the privacy of your home. *****IMPORTANT NOTICE...... The pictures show examples of a raw barrel prior to me drilling and prepping it, the parts included, and what wood will look like when barrel wax has been applied. Barrels will get an aged look over time and the prep I do will ensure you a good experience. This is my value added offering. I will prep the barrel to make it easy for you to use by doing the following (pretty sure NO ONE else offers this service and they hope you figure it out):- Tighten the rings around the staves- Steam check the barrel for possible future leaks- Re-tighten hoops and apply barrel wax or other barrel preparatory methods to get the barrel where it will hold steam- This process is labor intensive and is what it truly takes time to prepare a barrel so you dont get a leaky mess. I think it is important to deliver a barrel that is easy to use as I can't assume people own steamers, heat guns, barrel wax, and hammering tools to do the job right. MY Barrel prep takes about 15 to 25 minutes per barrel by a trained person so I can only imagine how long it might take you if I didnt do this work. I read the horror stories of people buying barrels from other vendors and not understanding why it didnt work when it was their lack of science and know how to get it done.- YOU will need to properly swell the barrel with water to complete the preparation process to ensure a good working barrel. Instructions are included and we are here to help as well.- Wood is a natural substance and has variations so barrels will have slight size/shape/color variation as they are all hand made.
