Description: Two original issues of the publication Storm Data, March and August 1990, which include information on the Hesston, KS tornado of March 13, 1990 and Plainfield, IL of August 28, 1990. These are monthly publications of NOAA National Climatic Data Center which record the storm reports of the National Weather Service, supplemented by illustrations compiled by Dr. Ted Fujita and Duane Stiegler of The University of Chicago. These supplements include 14 pages on the Hesston tornado (see sample photo) and 9 pages of material on the Plainfield, IL tornado (see sample photo). These are stapled paper magazines (about 8.5x11 inches) in very good condition. Formerly owned by Dr. Greg Forbes, now-retired Severe Weather Expert on The Weather Channel, when he was on the Penn State faculty; his mailing address on reverse of each issue.
