Description: TWO VINTAGE GOLD MEDAL ORIGINAL NOVELS: GM158 NAKED EBONY by Dan Cushman, PBO 1951"A Novel of Passion and Death by the Author of Jewel of the Java Sea"GM214 FEAR COMES CALLING by Aylin Lee Martin, PBO 1952 "Every shadow held a menace. Every stranger wanted her life." Both copies were in long-term storage* & show some storage wear & tanning to the text. GM158 Naked Ebony: Very Good+A clean, square, tight copy. The laminate on this book is more understated than on #214, though the back cover has the similar glossy shine. The outer covers show signs of storage wear; specifically, the bottom half inch or so of the front cover showing two, thin, horizontal lines, which leave impressions on the first few pages of text. The back cover shows a mild impression from a smaller book in storage and a thin line of the top-edge color at upper rear cover. The interior front and rear covers are clean, showing only faint signs of age. The text has tanned intermittently, with the center third of the text block slightly darker than the rest. A small round impression to the center of the first few pages (though it does not emanate from the front cover). GM214 Fear Comes Calling: Very Good+ to Near FineA clean copy with brilliant, glossy outer covers. The book has a very mild storage warp, creating a lift to the covers, though the book remains square and tight. The interior front and rear covers are clean and show only faint signs of age. The text has tanned some, with the most affected area along the bottom inch of so of the pages. Yet the paper remains supple and firmly bound. A lovely copy of this title. *Provenance:I acquired a number of high grade paperbacks, digests and pulps in the early 2000’s, which had been in undisturbed storage for nearly 50 years. Because of how they were stored some may show storage warp (i.e.) impressions of other smaller books to covers, etc. This will always be noted in any listing from this collection.
