Description: 2 EARLY Unknown NATIVE FOLK ART Clay POTTERY WHISTLES "RARE" Offered for your consideration are 2 "RARE and UNUSUAL" Pottery Whistles in the shape of Babies in Rocking Beds. I'm assuming these are Pre-Columbian or possibly Native American, they have not been vetted. Many pottery instruments survived from South and Central America, little is known of how they were used. Whistles, trumpets and rattles in animal or human form probably were used for ceremonies or served as playthings. These whistles are in the form of a baby lying down, the other shows a baby sitting up. Both are in the form of rockers with whistle mouthpieces and blow holes on top which gives off a piercing whistle. Measure 4" long, by 3 to 3 1/2" high, by 1 3/4". Both are well preserved in working condition. See my other Vintage NATIVE Items now on eBay NOTE: Thanks for looking and bidding, invoices are emailed within hours of auctions end. I ship by USPS.
