19th C. FRENCH GRAND TOUR PALAIS ROYALE 4" OPALINE GLASS & EGLOMISE SCENT BOTTLE

Description: Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a lovely 19th century French Grand Tour Palais Royal green opaline glass scent bottle with Eglomise top. These elaborately decorated bottles were souvenirs from Paris originally purchased during Europe's Grand Tour era. Made of bright green opaline glass, the bottle is decorated with a wide pierced openwork design in brass around the neck. The top has a ornate brass frame with Eglomise decoration under the glass portion of the lid with a scene of a French historical building. Measures 4" high and 2 3/8" in diameter. This nice scent bottle is in very good to excellent Estate condition. The hinge is tight and the lid opens and closes freely. There are a couple of tiny nicks in the edge of the glass lid over the Eglomise and the inner stopper is missing - no other noted damage.
