Due to the VERY time consuming process to remove coil stamps that were designed to "Stick" to each other until used (Some would say linerless stamps were the USPS' second greatest folly with self-adhesive stamps right after Scott #1552, the USPS' first attempt at a "self-adhesive" stamp in 1974.), some of the stamps will have a little bit of "lift" off the backing right at the perforations. What the USPS did not anticipate was that some of the Linerless stamps would end up sticking to each other indefinitely and could only be removed by heat (Using chemicals to separate the stamps only removes all of the gum off the stamps leaving them completely "gumless"). This often painstakingly long and delicate process makes these stamps all the more valuable. Found in sealed rolls is even more rare!
