The bag of gold jerked itself back up to the ceiling and floated down as carefully as possible. "I dont think that was fair," Haroun protested. "I dont have to be fair, I just have to be your slave until youve used up your three wishes. Whining wont change anything. Rules are rules. Stop dawdling and try wishing for something useful this time." Haroun licked his lip. "Ive decided—" "Yes, yes, yes—?" "More wishes. As many wishes as there are stars in the heavens and grains of sand on the shore." "You cant do that!" Khalid exploded. "You agreed to the terms. Three wishes, no more, and you cant use any of them to wish for more wishes." "You never said anything about that, about not wishing for more wishes." Haroun straightened his shoulders, pleased with himself. "The However clause!" Khalid cried. "I forgot the However clause!" It was Harouns turn to smile. "Careless of you."
