Nigeria had been a British colony and had used the Pounds and Shillings system until 1973 when they switched over to the Naira and Kobos system. This note is undated but the catalog shows this as the first issue and dates this signature combination to 1991. "Standard Catalog of World Paper Money" (Modern Issues 1961-) by Albert Pick. #27a. Face: C/96 253942 • Dark blue, black and gray on multicolor underprint. • Four busts typifying the varied peoples of Nigeria. Back: Farmers. • Watermark: Heraldic eagle. The Note: It saw some hands, has been folded vertically but not horizontally and lightly soiled. It retains a lot of crispness. It has no edge or body tears and no pinholes.
