1984 Trans Emerald Green Kramer American Pacer Deluxe Guitar With Hard Case

Description: PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS OR PURCHASING THIS ITEM. Up for sale is this 1984 USA made Kramer American Pacer Deluxe Guitar in a extremely rare Trans Emerald Green factory finish. This guitar is in amazing condition considering it’s 37 + years old. This trans Emerald Green finish is extremely rare from all the research I’ve done as are most of the trans finishes in general. However the green is very seldom seen if ever at all. This guitar is heavy, though I haven’t weighed it yet to know the exact weight but once I do I’ll post the weight here in the listing. Think early Gibson les Paul weight. These early Kramer bodies were mostly all maple but it’s said that the trans finish Kramer bodies were ash for the better wood grain which is why there was a extra charge for the trans finish guitars. It looks as if a previous owner routed the tremolo route in the body out a bit. They also routed the Floyd Rose bridge route out a bit on the face of the guitar and then blacked it out. Not sure if it was done by Kramer or a previous owner but it was like this when I purchased this guitar many years ago. It is visible on the body under /behind the bridge, on the trem arm side of the bridge. You can see it if you look. I’ve provided a pic of this area. Other wise you’d never see it while you are playing the guitar but certainly if the guitar is laying, hanging, or sitting, you can see it in the body just below the tremolo only on the trem arm side of the bridge. I’m only guessing it was done as these were some of the first guitars to have Floyd Rose bridges and so this was very likely the guitars original purchaser’s first Floyd Rose guitar. With that said they might have had the body routed under the Floyd Rose bridge, out more to allow for better access to tightening the trem arm collar. Or trying to get the bridge to sit lower or flush on the body. Again I’m only speculating. Either way I just wanted to point it out. So now that you’ve read this little tidbit I’m sure you’re now going back to look at the pics to see. In reality this does not affect the playability or sound of the guitar what so ever and is purely cosmetic in nature. Also looks to have had a little bit of the electronic cavity under the pick guard routed out to raw wood after the body had been finished. None of this routing is visible with the pick guard mounted I just wanted to mention it. This additional routing in the electronic cavity under the pick guard was done by Kramer at the factory. The body has a very non traditional Strat route. Very interesting route. Every 1984 Kramer Pacer deluxe body I’ve seen has this same exact additional route to the wood in the same exact location under the pick guard. This is not the typical banana headstock Kramer guitar as you can see. This guitar is a transition guitar. This is a 1984 Kramer guitar. The “C” series neck plate is a dead giveaway along with the German made Schaller bridge pickup is dated to 1984 as is the Floyd Rose tremolo. You can tell the Floyd Rose tremolo is from 1984 from the trem block. The tremolo block has no writing on it. At some point in 1985 before 1986, the Floyd Rose tremolo blocks got the patent pending numbers stamped into them. This bridge is in great condition for being as old as it is. The low “E” saddle has some wear of the Chrome finish as can be seen in the pics provided. The serial number on the neck plate is “C” series four digits ( C7118 ) This neck is one of the First run of banana necks which have the Kramer block logo more centered of the headstock with the “Pacer Series” script underneath the Kramer logo. This was done for a very brief time before Kramer went with just the Kramer block logo written along the bottom of the headstock face and the series was written on the truss rod cover. You will also notice there is no string tree bar as it is not needed due to the angled back headstock. This goes in line with the fact that Kramer was doing all kinds of changes all the time and even during the same production year. They were trying all sorts of things from the headstock changes, Logo changes, pickup changes, nut sizes. Body shapes, routes, materials, hardware, hardware finishes, etc. This neck has a scarf joint that is in excellent shape and shows zero signs of issue. The neck has a nice broken in feel to it. The headstock has a few nicks in the finish but nothing major and all from normal use over the last 40 years. See pics. This is a “R5” nut which are extremely desirable for vintage Kramer fans and collectors alike. The micro switch under the volume knob I believe splits the bridge pickup or does in phase and out of phase and split. I’m not sure but it’s a on/on/on micro switch and the bridge pickup is on in all three positions but sounds different in all three positions. I have pulled the pick guard to see what the pickups are. As you can see from the pics provided that these are all stock to the guitar. The bridge pickup is the German made Schaller Bridge humbucker pickup dated to 84. The neck and middle pickups are both Schaller pickups as well. All the Chrome hardware looks to be all original to the guitar. Schaller Tuners, early 84 German made Floyd Rose Bridge, R-5 locking nut, etc. the neck plate serial number is a “C” series plate. Four digits ( C 7118 ). I believe the screw in trem arm on these early Floyd Rose bridges were made of stainless steel if I’m not mistaken which would explain why it shows no visible pitting or rust that I can see or feel. It’s definitely used but still in great condition. The bridge and arm both look to be in extremely great shape for their age. The finish on this guitar has only a couple very tiny nicks or dings in the finish but nothing major at all. Most of them are on the sides of the guitar and can’t be seen unless you put a light on them. There is a very tiny ding on the lower front bout just by the pick guard. There are are a couple along the sides and back of the guitar but again noting that major and are very difficult to see. The other is a very tiny chip in the finish that exposed the wood which is along the bottom of the guitar. Ask for pics if you need to see. The finish on this guitar is in great condition otherwise. Especially considering that this guitar is 40 years old. See the pictures and judge for yourself. I have a ton of pictures of this but eBay will only allow 12 pics to be added to the listing so if you need to see anything specific please let me know and I’ll send you what ever pics I have of what you are requesting to see. The German made Schaller bridge pickup sounds awesome and gets nice and hot with distortion and cleans up very nicely without distortion. The original screw in style Trem arm is included along with a used generic case that has some condition issues but will protect the guitar for shipping and should work for protecting the guitar for storage as it has done in my collection. I just put a fresh new set of D’addario strings 9 gauge extra light. As with any guitar, you may want to have the guitar professionally set up to your liking but the guitar plays and sounds great as is. I will be listing a lot more Guitars from my personal collection in the next coming weeks and months so please save me in your favorite sellers and check back often for new listings as I post them.
