Secondary armament .50 caliber Browning machine gun. It combined thin but sloped armor with M4's reliable drivetrain and a reasonably potent anti-tank gun mounted in an open-topped turret. An alternate model, M10A1, which used M4A3 variant chassis, also was produced. It had a crew of 5 (commander, gunner, loader, driver, assistant driver). Production of two models ran from September 1942 to December 1943 and October 1942 to November 1943, respectively and 6,406 were built. It could speed up to 55 miles per hour. For defensive armament, also vehicle had a 12.7 mm browning machine gun along with any infantry weapons that soldiers on board would have carried. M-20 was developed in 1943 because of US Army's need for a mobile vehicle that could serve as an anti-aircraft role if necessary and haul cargo. It gave German Army its first armored fighting vehicle that mounted 88 mm cannon (derived from 88 mm Flak KwK 36, famous "eighty-eight" feared by Allied troops). Secondary armament was 2 MG 34 machine guns. It weighed 54 tons and had 4.72 in of front armor. It had a crew of 5 (commander, gunner, loader, driver & radio operator). While Tiger I was an outstanding design for its time, it was over-engineering, using expensive materials and labor-intensive production methods. In early period, Tiger was prone to certain types of track failures and breakdowns. It was expensive to maintain, but generally mechanically reliable. It was difficult to transport and vulnerable to immobilization when mud, ice, and snow froze between its overlapping and interleaved-pattern road wheels, often jamming them solid. This was a problem on Eastern Front in muddy season and during periods of extreme cold. 1,347 were built between August 1942 and August 1944. After August 1944, production of Tiger I was phased out in favor of Tiger II. It was said that wherever American troops went, so did their trusty M3 Halftracks. M3 halftrack was an American armored personnel carrier halftrack widely used by the Allies during World War II and in the Cold War. M3 half-track was extensively produced, with about 15,000 standard M3s and more than 38,000 variant units manufactured. M3 was extensively modified with several dozen variant designs produced for different purposes. During World War II, the M3 and its variants were supplied to the U.S. Army and Marines, as well as British Commonwealth and Soviet Red Army forces, serving on all major fronts throughout the war. M3 and its variants were produced by many manufacturers including Diamond T, White Motor Company, and Autocar. They were adapted for a wide variety of uses, such as a self-propelled anti-aircraft and self-propelled artillery.Solido tanks and military vehicles are aptly named, as they are truly “solid” with very heavy die-cast metal bodies.
