This knife commemorates the World's Fair that was held in KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE May through October 1982. NOTE, THIS KNIFE HAS NEVER BEEN USED. IT HAS BEEN STORED AWAY INSIDE THE ORIGINAL FACTORY BOX SINCE 1982. This knife is 42 years old. The knife in the box weighs approximately 2.0 ounces by itself. The knife has an overall open measurement of approximately 5.75" in length. Closed the knife measures approximately 3-3/8"long by 75" wide (including the part of the blade that extends past the sides) and a slim 3/16" thick. The blade itself measures approximately 2-1/8" long not including the tang. The drop point blade is made out of stainless "SURGICAL STEEL" and is clearly marked as such on the tang. Please refer to description photo # 9 to verify what I have described. The opposite side of the knife tang is stamped "PARKER CUT. CO." as can be seen in description photo # 5. Please refer to the description photos for more details about what I have described. The pocket knife remains exactly as it was received back in the day. The blade is easy to pull open with the use of a nail notch that is located along the top edge of the blade. Again, this knife was never used, inasmuch the knife remains in excellent condition as can easily be verified in the description photos. The knife handles are made out of brass (non-magnetic) and are adorned with decorative raised images and words celebrating the World's Fair and Knoxville, TN history. One side of the knife features images of a rustic log cabin, mountains and Davie Crockett holding a flintlock rifle followed by the names BOONE, CROCKETT and JACKSON along with KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE and 1982 WORLD'S FAIR. The opposite side of the knife features images of a sitting NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN tending a campfire, a blazing sun with the words "SOLAR ENERGY" in the center and the NASA SPACE SHUTTLE with the name COLUMBIA underneath. The stainless steel blade remains in excellent condition and retains its original factory sharpened straight cutting edge. The blade is tightly fitted and opens and closes properly and with the perfect amount of tension. The brass handles show natural patina from age but can be polished if the new owner so desired. The cardboard box has no damage as can be verified in the description photos and all the colors and graphics remain clear, crisp and vivid.
