Description: Stewart MacDonald 5-String Banjo - OrigInal Owner (Rare). I personally purchased the banjo kit from Stewart MacDonald around the mid-1970s. I sanded the wood, assembled it, applied the finish and installed the mother of pearl inlay. This is a high-spirited, loud banjo. The strings are probably 15 years old, and the tone still sounds very crisp. The action may be somewhat high for some, but this is easily addressed by reducing the height of the bridge.
