Description: Beautifully restored 1970 Harmony H159, the poorman's Birch version of the vaunted Sovereign Jumbo 1260. It shows some minor finish scuffs, but overall, it looks fantastic. The neck has been reset with hot hide glue, but all the brace work etc was done with titebond. I find this to be the best combination. It allows for the possibility of neck removal at some point in the distant future if necessary. Action is right on with plenty of saddle for future adjustments. The frets have been leveled and dressed. Since the back was already pretty loose, while it was removed, the braces were planed and reglued. A crack under the fingerboard tongue was fixed and cleated. The bridge had to be plugged and re-routed. The custom made pickguards are as close to the original as I could manage. This 1970 version of the Birch "Sovereign" had this red tortoise that was hard to match. I installed a Fishman neo-d humbucking soundhole pickup that would usually have the wire hanging out the soundhole by actually adding an internal jack that is wired to an endpin jack. The pickup can be unplugged from that inner jack and removed. But it sounds fantastic and I'd recommend just keeping it there. It's sold as is, but I have no doubt that you'll be happy with the sound and playability of this guitar. It comes in a new gig bag that fits well. It's a cheap bag, but it's really kinda nice for what it is. It has some padding, nice zippers lots of pockets and handles and backpack straps. Thanks.
