For your consideration ... ... a 1969-C $1 Star Note (H-St. Louis) certified "Gem New" 65 PPQ by PCGS. If you're a Star Note collector, you know this 1969 series/FRB combination doesn't come along very often — and is rarely seen at this lofty grade, as it is a key combo to the Star Note series. The series ("C") and Federal Reserve Bank (St. Louis, designated by the letter "H") is the second rarest of the 36 series/FRB combinations from 1969. Only the C Series/L-San Francisco Stare Note, which in this grade sells for $150-$200 -- is considered more scarce. As indicated by the grade, this replacement Federal Reserve Note is in pristine condition -- as crisp as the day it was printed 50 years ago, and with no folds, tears, rips or holes. The only blemish of any kind -- if you even want to call it that -- is some faint gray/green shade beneath the "ONE" on the reverse. I darkened the second close-up of the reverse just a bit so you can see what I'm talking about. It's noticeable close up, but not at all distracting, and it becomes difficult to see from 12 inches or more away, depending on the light. Overall, a scarce, crisp, key series Star Note that's virtually perfect -- and certified "Gem New" by the best in the business.
