Description: Handsome large-format 1967 Shell Oil Company fold-out road map of New Jersey, printed more than 55 years ago. This map opens to 36" x 23½" and has great detail on old highway alignments, with cartography by R.R. Donnelley & Sons. It shows construction in progress on I-78, I-80, I-280, and I-287, and it locates the proposed route of I-95 through Somerset County — a highway that was never built. There are inset plans of Atlantic City and Trenton. On the reverse side there are detailed maps of the Philadelphia-Camden area and Newark and vicinity, including Paterson, Elizabeth, Hoboken, Jersey City, Millburn, Montclair, Fort Lee, Nutley, Orange, Teaneck, Summit, Rahway, and other cities. The map was distributed by Shell in 1967 and is dated in the legend. The code number in the lower margin is 6467-A. The photograph on the cover shows the beach at Atlantic City. Condition: This map is in very good condition, bright and clean, with no marks, rips, or tears. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions. Buy with confidence!
