Description: Launched in 1966, the Rollei 35 was, at the time, the smallest 'full frame' 35mm camera in the world; it remains among the smallest all metal full frame 35mm film based cameras, making it desirable for urban use. This camera, serial number 3122625, is among the first batches made in Germany between 1967 and 1971; made in black, it features the Carl Zeiss Tessar 3.5/40mm lens with the feet marker on the top and meter marker on the bottom intended for the American market. This would be the original Rollei 35 model, later renamed the Rollei 35 T with the introduction of the Rollei 35 S. The lens barrel is dent free with a fully functional barrel lock and no apparent scratches, clouding, or fungus visible on the lens. The top plate is both original and in excellent shape with only extremely minimal surface scuffing and scratches. Inside the camera, the battery compartment for the exposure meter is clean and in good shape; the meter has been tested with a MRB625 mercury-free replacement battery and is working! No battery is present and it has not been tested or modified to the best of our knowledge. The shutter and film advance all work as intended and the viewfinder is clear. This well-kept camera, safely stored in its Rollei case, is in excellent overall condition with only minor surface scuffs as expected of the age. It is not film tested and is sold as-is.
