1966 Ampeg B-15NF Portaflex 25-Watt 1x15" Bass Combo Checkered Blue Vinyl

Description: The sound of these B15 combos is on just about every Motown and Soul record recorded during the 60s and 70s and have continued to be the choice of MANY artists across all genres to this day. I own quite a few of them currently and can't get enough. I gig with most of them regularly. These are not super loud compared to most modern bass amplifiers but loud enough for blues bands in small bars and with front of the house PA support these can rock any stage with classic bass tone. These blue checkered models are some of the most sought after B15 variations due to their visual association with classic players such as James Jamerson. This is a 66 according to the serial number. Features the single baffle design. It is working perfectly and was recently serviced. All the electrolytic filter capacitors have been replaced with original values to ensure its best performance but most of the passive electronic components are all original. All have been checked for drift and replaced if necessary. The transformers appear to be original. No signs or rewiring or removals. The preamp tubes are potentially original. Ampeg labled 6SL7. Power tubes are Old stock 6L6GC. The speaker is probably original as it dates to 65 and has the ampeg sticker on the back. CTS square magnet. These are the standard speaker in the B-15. Nothing fancy but they are quite rugged and sound great. See photos for cosmetics. Lots of small dings and scuffs, some paint marks. Cloth has some knicks. New blue handle installed. This amp has been gigged and well used during its life but has been electrically maintained. Its not a show queen but has years of honest weathered mojo. This could be a reliable gigging amp for you as its been for many years already. Includes the original trolley which is super helpful for transporting it from gig to studio and beyond!
