For the second year the waves were small but according to Surfing Illustrated: "Despite all the problems bugging the surfers, they went out and really did an outstanding job on practically nothing.One outstanding ride in Junior Menʻs Semi-Finals was one taken by Corky Caroll in which he did a reverse (fin-forward) take-off and turned the board around while he standing up."
