They are wound in a standard fixed spring rate of 1,100 lb/in with factory end pigtails and a free height of 11-inches. These springs provide a 3-inch drop in the front of your C10 and work with stock or aftermarket control arms. The rear springs in our C10 lowering kit are made from the same high-quality steel but utilize a smaller .600-inch diameter wire (that’s just under 5/8-inch). These rear springs are also designed at a fixed rate and come in at 300 lb/in for a 5-inch drop in the rear of your C10, which levels these trucks out nicely. The free height of our rear springs comes in at 9-inches. Both front and rear springs are provided with a long-lasting gloss black powder coat that will go with any suspension/body/frame color and make the springs easy to keep clean and looking good. The included rear spring retainers ship in primer, ready for your finish painting, powder coating, or other surface protection, and include all new Grade 8 mounting hardware so you don’t have to worry about trying to clean up decades-old hardware with rusty threads or other damage to them. These shocks are valved to provide a smooth and comfortable ride, while enhancing road feel by better controlling the spring’s motion over road imperfections. Belltech engineers increased the low-speed compression of these shocks while tweaking the rebound forces. Designed specifically for lowered pickup truck applications the Belltech Nitro Drop 2 shocks feature hardened chrome 12.5mm shock shafts with triple lip NBR rod seals and a Teflon guide bushing. Inside the 45mm wide body (for extra oil volume) are 30mm shock pistons with low-friction Teflon seals. These Belltech Nitro Drop 2 shocks are direct replacements for your stock shocks and bolt right in with no drama. In the rear we’ve spec’d CPP’s Black Magic nitrogen gas shocks. Charged with 180 psi of nitrogen gas, these shocks offer quick response to road imperfections, keeping the rear suspension planted, which helps with traction and cornering, while providing a calm, stock like ride quality. Our rear shock relocation brackets reduce the installed shock angle, rotating the shock to a more vertical mounting position, which provides for more shock travel and better handling. The brackets are black powder coat finished and include Grade 5 mounting hardware. Simply grind/drill out the rivets retaining the factory rear shock brackets and bolt these brackets into place on the rear axle and frame crossmember for an easy upgrade. New U-bolts are included to make the job easier! We recommend these brackets for any C10 that is lowered three or more inches in the rear.Keep it On the Straight and Level with An Adjustable Trac Bar Our Chevy C10 deluxe lowering kit also includes a fully adjustable replacement trac bar for your truck. This trac bar is not only longer than the stock piece but includes polyurethane bushings at each end to reduce deflection and keep your axle assembly centered. We relocate the axle mount to the passenger side control arm with the included bracket. A matching shim is used on the driver’s side control arm to keep your axle assembly and ride height level from side to side. Fully adjustable, the longer bar allows easy adjustment and centering of your rear axle and retains the stock frame mounting point while reusing your stock mounting hardware.A DIY Project Easily Accomplished with Hand Tools Dropping your C10 with our C10 lowering kit 3/5 coil springs is a great basic project for a Saturday afternoon with age-appropriate kids or grandkids to help sling some tools with. Using nothing more than hand tools, a floor jack, and some jack stands (don’t forget the tire chocks for additional safety!) you can knock out this spring and shock swap in just a couple of hours. The stock front coil springs do have some tension on them and take a little finesse to work free, but the rear springs practically fall out once you take the weight off them and unbolt the spring retainers. The shocks are simple nut and bolt work as well. This is a project that will net you better handling and that perfect down low ride height that will make your C10 stand out.
