Description: 1965 & 1981 ATLANTA BRAVESPlus: Last Braves Game In MilwaukeeandHank Aaron's 715th Home Run! Rare Sportsfilms, Inc. is the rights owner of this DVD The last Braves game in Milwaukee, the 1965 "Atlanta" Braves film "Here Come The Braves", Hank Aaron's 715th home run, and the 1981 Atlanta Braves highlights are all included on a new 1-hour DVD from "Rare Sportsfilms"! The last Braves game in Milwaukee contains interesting scenes of County Stadium, interviews with Eddie Mathews, Aaron and manager Bobby Bragan on their thoughts about leaving Milwaukee, as well as comments from Milwaukee and front office officials. This rare B & W TV news footage also shows brief game action including Frank Bolling's grand slam off Sandy Koufax, Hank Aaron's last hit in a Milwaukee Braves uniform, and the sad ending to the game, with the lights going out at County Stadium and the field covered with fans. "Here Come The Braves" is a 1965 Braves promotional film on the building of new Atlanta Stadium, and the arrival of the Braves in Atlanta in the spring of 1965 for a three-game exhibition series with the Detroit Tigers. Shown at the airport are city and Braves officials, including captain Eddie Mathews and slugger Hank Aaron, then the motorcade and the parade to downtown and trip to the new stadium. Manager Bragan and the coaching staff are shown in nice closeup shots as well as Mathews, Aaron, Clay Carroll, Hank Fischer, etc. Many action shots of all the players, taken both during the exhibition series and in Milwaukee during the 1965 season show Rico Carty, 24-game winner Tony Cloninger, Lee Thomas, Wade Blasingame, young Phil Niekro, ERA leader Billy O'Dell, Woody Woodward and Bolling. The Braves set a new record in '65 with six players each hitting 20 or more homers, and shown together are Mack Jones, Joe Torre, Felipe Alou, Gene Oliver, Mathews and Aaron. Shot in beautiful COLOR and narrated by Milo Hamilton, this film also shows some of the stars on other N.L. teams including: Sandy Koufax, Juan Marachal, Willie Mays, Jim Ray Hart, Bob Shaw, Dick Groat, Mike Shannon, Curt Flood, Bob Clemente, Bill Mazeroski, Ernie Banks, Billy Williams, Joe Morgan, Sammy Ellis, Joey Jay, Pete Rose, Joe Nuxhall, Deron Johnson, Vada Pinson and Tommy Harper. The 1981 Atlanta Braves highlight film shows scenes of Spring Training at West Palm Beach, the Opening Night win vs the Reds and mostly action shots of the players throughout the '81 season. You'll see home runs by Dale Murphy and Bob Horner, a new club stolen base record by Jerry Royster, the crucial injury to Gene Garber, Gaylord Perry's "Puff Ball" (it was outlawed), Bruce Benedict's U.S. Army commercials and of course, the baseball strike. Other players shown throughout include Phil Niekro, Tommy Boggs, Rick Mahler, Claudell Washington, Glenn Hubbard, Chris Chambliss, Larry McWilliams, Rick Camp, Rafael Ramirez, speedster Eddie Miller and manager Bobby Cox. Narrated by Braves broadcaster Pete Van Wieren, the film ends with shots of rookies Steve Bedrosian and Brett Butler and a look to a more successful season in '82 with new manager Joe Torre.
