Description: For your viewing pleasure is this rare Leedy 5.5x14 No. 390 Shelly Manne Model snare drum made by Slingerland when they owned the Leedy brand between 1955 and 1965. These are sometimes affectionately referred to as Slinger-Leedy drums and this one is sporting a blue & brass Leedy badge. You'll recognize the original chrome over brass Stick Saver hoops and even the internal AUG 64 date stamp as being Slingerland-style. This snare is in beautiful condition with barely any wear on the stunning Black Diamond Pearl wrap and very light signs of aging on the 8 original lugs. The original 8193 Broadway extension snare strainer, butt, and wires are original and fully functional as is the internal muffler. There are no extra holes or modifications of any kind. It tunes up with ease and sounds terrific. This beautiful piece of Leedy/Slingerland history would be display beautifully in any collection and would be a great addition to any studio or live setup.
