1960s Kelloggs Canada TATTOO Card JUNGLE Animals FC69 Cereal UNUSED Decalcomania

Description: Up for auction here is a TATOOS Card issued by the Kellogg’s Company of Canada. One was inserted in each box of Kelloggs Corn Flakes Cereal. Although I have not been able to find an exact date of issue, I speculate these were issued in the early to mid 1960’s based on other similar series issued by Kelloggs and made by the Decalcomania co. of Canada around the same time period. As mentioned these tattoos were made by the Decalcomania Company of Canada. This company made the cards for several different cereal series issued (mostly of the “Decal” type” The fronts feature 6 different tattoos on each. According to the backs of the card there were 6 different cards featuring 6 different themes listed. This one features Jungle Animals. The backs of the card are printed in both English and French. Burdick lists this series as FC69 in his American Card Catalogue. The Card measures 3 3/16 inches by 4 inches approximately The card does have a small spot of discoloration to the front. Other than that it is free from creasing and I think displays nicely. I have scanned the front of the card fairly large so you can determine the condition for yourself.. This is a scarcer issue to find. I imagine most would have been used by kids and destroyed, which would explain why they are harder to find. Due to the lower population in Canada than in the US or the UK, print runs in Canada were much smaller compared with American or British Cards. Because of this the majority of all Canadian non sports cards are far scarcer than card issued in the US and UK I will be trying to list several EARLY TRADE & TYPE CARDS over the next few days (spread across different categories), including one or two that are unrecorded in any guide, that were put given away with Tobacco, Cigarettes , Caramel, Candy, Gum, Chocolate, Bread Coffee Tea Cereal and other products, covering such diverse subjects as Native American Indians , Baseball , Football, Boy Scouts, Ice Hockey, Golf, Presidents of the United States, NCAA and IVY League Colleges and Universities, Dog Breeds, Circus themes and many more.
