Jack Ladra Jack Ladra was born in 1933 and raised in Pāʻauhau on the Big Island of Hawaii. He was Drafted by the New York Yankees and played 2 years in their Minors (1956-1957). He hit .270 with 46 stolen bases and 20 HRs. On the Big Island of Hawaii in the Hamakua district, Jack excelled in both basketball and baseball. He quickly became a standout athlete and had a successful professional baseball career upon graduating from school. Ladra is best known for playing with the Toei Flyers in the Japan Pacific League from 1958-1964.
