These were issued in 1958 and 1959. In 1960 Chile changed from "Pesos" to "Escudos" at the rate of 1000 Pesos to 1 Escudo. In 1975 they went back to Pesos. This design was reissued after the conversion as a One-Half Centesimo de Escudo note. "Standard Catalog of World Paper Money" (General Issues 1368-1960) by Albert Pick. #119. Face: C24-95 • 950199 • Blue. • Bernardo O'Higgins, he was a Chilean independence leader who freed Chile from Spanish rule in the Chilean War of Independence. Back: Printed by the Casa de Moneda, Chile. The Note: A veteran, it saw lots of hands. It has numerous edge splits and small tears, no body tears but a couple of microscopic pinholes.
