Description: Description: A unique opportunity to own nine of these premier post-World War II scarcities, each of which is well developed and in high grade. All 9 cards were issued at a rate of one per pack of 1955 Hocus Focus and the photo picture had to be self-developed. These are the scarcest nationally distributed trading cards of the last 75 years. How rare are these 9 cards? Consider that one of them was not even cataloged as of June 2019. The only reason many of the rest are known is that the first 96 out of 126 cards were reissued in 1956 in a slightly larger format and with perforations. To this day, there are no known complete sets of 1955 Hocus Focus and even Topps does not have these cards in their archive. Rated as the rarest cards available, the baseball subset of 23, which is highly sought after, was not fully known until 2011. In terms of Major League scarcity, the 1955 Hocus Focus is tougher on a per card basis than legendary examples including 1951 Topps Current All-Stars of Robin Roberts, Eddie Stanky, and Jimmy Konstanty as well as the 1961 Topps Dice Game. Compared to non-sports issues, each of these cards is individually tougher than the 1932 U.S. Caramel #24 William McKinley. It is probable that only a handful each of the 1955 Hocus Focus non-sport cards exist as they were never widely collected, now or at the time of issue. Presented are nine of the rarest Topps cards known including one that was previously unknown to exist and quite possibly may be one-of-a-kind: 1955 Hocus Focus #14 Buffalo Bill (Cody); Westerners Photo 8 of 11; 14 of 126 1955 Hocus Focus #20 ARS 1301; Airplanes Photo 1 of 15; 20 of 126 1955 Hocus Focus #41 Mount Rushmore; World Wonders Photo 9 of 15; 41 of 126 1955 Hocus Focus #46 Corvair “Ficon”; Airplanes 6 of 15; 46 of 126 1955 Hocus Focus #47 Thomas Alva Edison; World Leaders Photo 8 of 25; 47 of 126 1955 Hocus Focus #63 Diving (David Browning); Sporting Thrills Photo 9 of 20; 63 of 126 1955 Hocus Focus #72 Annie Oakley; Westerners Photo 1 of 11; 72 of 126 1955 Hocus Focus #105 Boeing “Bomarc”; Airplanes Photo 15 of 15; 105 of 126 1955 Hocus Focus #119 S200 “Minijet”; Airplanes Photo 13 of 15; 119 of 126 [UNKNOWN & UNCATALOGED AS OF JUNE 2019] As a point of reference, these 9 were originally part of a larger group of 16. Four of those six remaining cards were graded in the PSA 5 to PSA 7 range. Important Facts: Everything ships fast and free with insurance as well as tracking.
