Wilmington, Delaware. Mrs. Fred Hammer, left, the former Andrea Luckenbach, shipping family heiress, holds hands with her brother, Edgar F. Luckenbach Jr. today at start of trial of her husband, who shot and wounded his estranged wife at the Delaware Racetrack the past June 28. Hammer, 45, was sentenced to five years in the workhouse on charges of carrying concealed deadly weapons. He still faces two additional charges of assault to commit murder. Mrs. hammer left a hospital here on July 17. The shooting climaxed a series differences between the heiress and her husband.Photo measures 6.75 x 9.75inches. Photo is dated 08-03-1954.
